I also did drugs, various drugs. I was lucky to never get addicted to any of them though *phew*. I was such a stubborn and idealistic teen! I honestly feel really bad for my mom heh. I'm glad thought i eventually got myself back on the right road and stopped these destructive behavior! Comment #1 Karen from Southwest (Contact Member) - My sister went through the rebellious years in high school. My parents were at their wits' end as far as she was concerned. We all tried everything to get her to turn around but unfortunately that whole peer pressure thing kicked in. After about 5 years of running around with these idiots she finally realized that she was getting nowhere. She is now happily married and has a 5 year old child. We can laugh about it now but boy those days were rough!! Comment #2 Loopy from The Big D (Contact Member) - My sister was a very troubled teen. She was pregnant at 14 and again at 15. The guy she got pregnant by was in a gang. She now is 22 years old and my parents are raising her two boys. It really isn't fair because my parents are in their 50's and should finally have their kids raised, but now they have to raise the boys. But, like my mom says, "We raise them, or they go to foster care." And, that is not going to happen!!!! Comment #3 mark from marky mark land, canada (Contact Member) - Loopy, that must be tough... It's too bad when people make bad decisions like that and end up pregant at such a young age. It's great that your parents are taking care of the children but yeah it sucks that they can't finally have a break now that their kids are grown up. What is your sister doing now? How come she is not raising the kids? Comment #4 Xavier (63.176.159.122) - What truly defines a troubled teen, and when does a parent really need to seek intervention? Parents often compare their children to other people's children. Such as saing, "My kids not as bad as so-and-so's kid". Or "I wish my kid would act like so-and-so's kid". This is Wrong. Comment #5 crystal from asia (Contact Member) - Hi mark, when I was also in my teenage years like you. I also feel the same because my mother used to have some favoritism in my siblings and I was the least favorite. I was even disliked by her. So I hated her too. I felt rebellion but I didn't take any things that will destruct myself, not ever. It will just add to the insult she is giving me. I want to be successful, not a loser that she expect me to be. Comment #6 fhaye from Los Angeles (Contact Member) - How could we describe a troubled teen? Most parents treat troubled teens like they are not accepted in the society. I was before a troubled teen but I don't think of the others are saying, I vision myself as having the wrong path of direction. Directions that you can learn from it. I was been in a boarding school for girls actually a military school like those boys military schools. I've change a lot when I was there academics good but not excellent and having new friends as well. Now I have a direction in life and with career as a military personnel. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
