stacey from victoria, canada - Schizophrenia has always been a part of my life. I don't have it, but my mom's bestfriend had it and eventually committed suicide because he could not handle the delusions, he was very angry with us all for not believing his delusions the way he did. I was about fourteen when he committed suicide i believe. Also, my grandma's youngest brother has schizophrenia and disappeared years ago. We don't know what happened to him. When I was a teenager and experiencing social anxiety and panic attacks, i thought i was developing schizophrenia (lol) but turned out that it wasn't that. Comment #1 snowbird from The Frozen Tundra - My brother is bipolar/schitzophrenic. He has tried to commit suicide quite a few times. He finally got a doctor that got his med just right and has been doing really good. That is so important, to get your meds right and keep taking them. Comment #2 Loopy from The Big D - I had a grandmother that had schizophrenia. I didn't get to see her very often. I know my Dad said that her house was super cluttered because she would keep everything she had. She was a packrat. She has money stashed all over and never remembered where she would put it. She never left her house. Comment #3 mark from marky mark land, canada - Snowbird, i'm really happy that your brother finally found the right medication for his illness. It is truly a devasting illness for the person who has it and everybody who has the person in their lives. It's so tough. Comment #4 Milly from The Midwest - I had a friend for years and I had no idea that she was schitzophrenic, it must be something that just triggers it. I moved away for a few months and came back to see her. She was real quiet, not like herself, and she excused herself and went in the bathroom and got a razor and came back and proceeded to shaver her hair off. I have never experienced anything like that in my life!
