Some memories should be remained repressed

Repressed memories are there for a reason and that is probably the best. Some people naturally repress their own memories to avoid the constant pain that a tragedy or a particularly brings, while some are repressed through artificial means like hypnotism and mental conditioning.

Even though how much a doctor wants to cure a particular patient about his mental condition, if he shuts his awareness because of the memories he keeps on repressing then there will be no cure for his case. If you watch Shutter Island, you will know what I mean.
