Can someone give me an indepth overview of the various aspects of spirit and psychosis?

Psychosis: In the general sense, a mental illness that markedly interferes with a person's capacity to meet life's everyday demands. In a specific sense, it refers to a thought disorder in which reality testing is grossly impaired.

Symptoms can include seeing, hearing, smelling, or tasting things that are not there; paranoia; and delusional thoughts. Depending on the condition underlying the psychotic symptoms, symptoms may be constant or they may come and go.

Spirits and psychosis is a word far different from each other in terms of their definition or meaning i guess.

The English word "spirit" has many differing meanings and connotations, but commonly refers to a supernatural being or essence — transcendent and therefore metaphysical in its nature.

Psychosis literally means abnormal condition of the mind, and is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a "loss of contact with reality". People suffering from psychosis are said to be psychotic.

You can learn a lot in wiki.

Guess you already got your answers from those two links. Why are you so conscious about psychosis and spirits anyway. Well, they really both different from each other but I think seeing spirits will drive you into a psychotic episode (if you have a weak heart).

Hi! I think the psychosis part has been very well explained. The spirit part has not been addressed. By "spirit" we generally mean the non-material side of our beings. The side that will remain after our bodies rot and disappear. It becomes pure energy again and change form. The connection? I am not sure, but I think there is a connection between the material and the spiritual. In the past people were exorcised when they became psychotic. Obviously some "spirit" was in there wreaking havoc. Some cult people today still do this.

Everybody is free to make up their own mind. Good luck!

People were exorcised when it was that they had been found to have been psychotic. Nowadays, they simply put them into institutions and feed them pills all day. This is a strange development, as one can only wonder, what sort of effect can those pills have on one's brain, when we think of the connection to the spirit, and the afterlife and so forth.

What a strange cycle indeed. It is like they change the old cycle and replaced it for something unnatural and inhumane.

I have nothing against anyone and just like Jane said, we are entitled on our own thoughts, and I think I am entitled to think that exorcism is not true. IF it is true then where would our own spirit be when some sort of spirit infiltrate our body. But anyway, we are indeed entitled to think and believe on anything so I hope that there would be no one to get mad at my post.

They say that when you do not put your mind into such things and that if you do not believe on such you will not be affected by it, just like in voodoo, once you believed in it, you will be affected by it. So it is better if we do not put our mind into this kind of paranormal activities so that we can be sure that somehow we are safe.
