Struggling with my Weight

Poochie from the pound -

I have always been a bigger than average girl. I have struggled with my weight since I was in the third grade. My parents always made healthy meals and I played sports, but my sister and I did way too much snacking. I still struggle with my weight and I find myself overeating quite a bit. I think it is something I will have to deal with the rest of my life. I just hope my daughter doesn't struggle with her weight like I did.

I have struggled with my weight too. I had always been a slender girl growing up, even throughout high school but then when I entered college I didn't just gain the "freshman 15", I gained the "freshman 30". It was very difficult for me to find the time to exercise, I was always busy with my studies and eating fast food was convenient. By the time I had graduated from college I was about 50 pounds overweight. I found comfort in food, it helped me get through the stress. A friend of mine and told me that she had lost a lot of weight by making herself throw up and that I should try it. I tried, but I just could not do it. That was a wake up call for me. I knew that I had to do something. I started watching what I ate and most importantly portion control. I incorporated exercise into my daily routine and in one year I had lost about 45 pounds. Maintaining that loss has been hard, but I'm determined to never have to end up in that bathroom again contemplating if I should throw up just what I ate.

I have been struggling with my weight too these days, but it is not because I'm depressed. I feel pretty comfortable with the way things are going in my life and I finally have a "I don't care if I'm not 110" attitude. I think me always being concerned about how thin I was was more of a problem.

Alot of people replace what they are missing in their lives with food. Food is comforting. We need to be able to tell our loved ones how we feel about what we need in our lives. This would probably help a great deal.

not all eating disorders are associated with over eating. i have eating disorders because i dont eat. and its really not by choice, the cupboards can be so full that i have no room to put the groceries away and i still wont eat, the sad thing is that im NEVER hungry and when i am hungry as little as a sandwich can fill me up, ive been like this since i was 13 and i still dont really know why, i eat once a day if i feel hungry, because of that im severely anemic and overwieght im 7 months pregnant and still eating like a mouse. the main problem is that if im not hungry and i eat anyway i get sick. im stumped at what to do about it ive seen nutritionists, and i now see my doctor on a weekly basis, and no one has any answers as to why i cant eat.

I also love eating but I'm not overweight. You can still eat that much but replace your snacks to fruits since fruits can make your stomach full but it can't make you fat as well as you also get your daily dose of Vit. C which is healthy

Do not wish for it, make it come true! If you can't even control your eating habit then how can you do so with your child. I am not trying to be mean, just giving you the hard facts.

Your parents are still to be blamed here, even though they are making healthy snacks it didn't mean that they have effectively monitored your diet. A word of advise, learn to control the eating habit of your little girl, avoid eating at unhealthy fast food chains like McDonalds. Obesity, our number health problem is caused by inability to control our children snacking and eating habits.
