You know so many people are in denial of their depression. I had a best friend in high school that tried to commit suicide and they put her on some kind of "happy pill." The happy pill really didn't help any. I think it is more or less, needing a change in your life and some therapy. Comment #1 mark from marky mark land, canada - Yeah depression is a really big problem in America, along with anxiety/panic disorders. A lot of people think they will just "shake" out of it but it's usually not that simple. I do think pills can help, i know it helped me BUT it's not a cure. There needs to be more things to be done, such as regular exercise, better diet, and doing things instead of staying home and not really making any effort to change your life. Comment #2 Milly from The Midwest - I personally think all of us could be diagnose as "clinically depressed". We all go through times where we just can't handle the bad things life deals us. Problem is wanting to kill ourselves over it and actually trying. That is when you seriously have a problem. Comment #3 mark from marky mark land, canada - Yeah we all have our up's and down's. It's an issue when someone actually STAYS depressed for months and months and months, to the point where they have suicidal thoughts. That's when it's an actual problem for sure! Comment #4 Karen from Southwest - I agree. I think everyone once in a while gets into a funk, but it is serious when someone ends up having suicidal thoughts. My sister in law was diagnosed with post-partum depression but after about a year, we knew somethings was still wrong with her. She was put on different medication and was diagnosed with Depressive Disorder. Comment #5 Loopy from The Big D - I think we also could be all depressed. Everyone is depressed at some point in your life. I guess it is mostly about how it affects you, how long, and how bad. I am sure there is a difference between clinical depression and just having the blues.
