Thank author of this post/commentKatie Couric says that the number of children diagnosed with bipolar disorder has increased 4000 percent and more research is needed to help these young patients.

It is sad to know that there are lots of people who are diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the worst, the numbers are getting more and more younger. I wonder why and how people get this illness. How can we prevent ourselves from being a bipolar patient? Is it hereditary? I would really want to know more about this illness and how it affects an individual and the people around them.

Bipolar disorder does seem to be a genetic disorder which can be inherited. Some even say that certain foods and medicine can cause or at least aggravate the disorder. There have been a lot of studies about gut bacteria and its role in helping stave off depression and the negative symptoms of bipolar disorder, as it is in the intestines that the chemicals which produces happy feelings in your body are produced.

It is important that we know what is depression and how we are able to be free from the risk of developing the disorder.

For me, it is just a matter of controlling your emotions, being able to eat the proper food and medication to help in dealing with the disorder and have a great life.

And people who knows someone with this kind of disorder should know how to get along with them.

It's sad to know that the number of children who suffer from bipolar disorder has increased. This is already a reason for medical experts to learn better ways on how to overcome this disorder and help the patients overcome it easily. I think it also helps if person especially young ones get enough support and love from their parents. I was pleased to see the video. Thank you and great day.

This is very disheartening. I know and I understand just how the relatives feel regarding this Bipolar Disorder. And another sad thing is that, the number of the sufferers of disease continues to grow in numbers. I do hope that these people suffering from this will be given proper attention and care. And a support group will help them as well.
