I can't stand in long lines or be in huge crowds or I feel like I can't breathe. It really sucks, but it was much worse when they first started because I didn't realize it was psychological. Now I know it is all in my head so I usually only have an attack about once per month which for me that is much better. But, I wish they would just go away for good. I am still working on that, and I think about them almost everytime I am out and about. Comment #1 stacey from victoria, canada - I feel you, i have had panic attacks ever since I was about 16-17. It's 7 years now. I have slowly learned how to deal with it in a more rational way, but it is still very difficult at times :( I tried medication myself and that really helped me but i know it's not for everybody. Comment #2 Jules from Nebraska - I have the same problem. I get stressed very easy and it turns to an attack. Since going on medication last year, it has helped me tremendously. I do find though that around the holidays is what an attack tends to spring up so I really try not to take on too much. I have had problems in the past of not saying no and always yes, yes, yes. I always tried to be a Super Mom and thought that I could handle it all but I learned the hard way that I just can't do everything. Life is much easier now that I can say no and not feel so guilty about it. Comment #3 Donna Cruise (63.176.159.166) - Sorry for being so ignorant about this but, what does it feel like when you go under a panic attack? I haven't personally saw one yet. What happens to you during these attacks? Does the medication immediately take effect based on your experiences? Hope you can enlighten my question and share your experiences here with us. Comment #4 crystal from asia - Hi Loopy from The Big D, yeah, you're right. Stress have some manifestations in our body that was caused by our worry. If you noticed, we feel good when we think of something good and we feel bad after thinking of something negative. So, it's mainly on the contents of our thoughts that our emotions depend. The trick is there: since it's our thoughts that influences our feelings, we can change use our thoughts to manipulate our emotions. It's like when you feel bad, just think of something good to make you feel good.
