I have heard that acupuncture can help with many many aspects of life. I would be curious to hear from anyone here that has had it done and for what reasons. I think for some it is to help with stress, others with illness. I am curious if it really works. I always see it as being similar to forms of yoga.

My sister in law is 9 months pregnant and has an appointment with an acupuncturist this week. She had a pregnant friend who did the same thing and her severe back pain from the pregnancy ceased. My SIL is going through the same thing - back pain, leg pain, etc. I'm sure that acupuncture helps you mentally as well.

I am unsure if it really works. However, i have a friend who is going to school for that. Also, i have another friend who, due to surgery, ended up with pinched nerves in her foot. She went for an appointment and said it hurt a lot right after, but after a day, the pain went away and it felt a lot better. But she said that she is supposed to go several times before the pain is permantely reduced, and she can't afford it :(

I don't think that acupuncture is even accepted by most health insurance companies and if it is, I'm sure that it's limited as far as what they pay. I would love to have it done myself but am a little bit nervous!!

I saw a guy on tv that was getting acupuncture to help with his drug addiction. He quit using crystal meth and started doing accupuncture, I don't remember how often. But, I think it was almost daily. I guess he felt like it helped him. If you think it helps more power to you.

I would love to try acupuncture. I hear that it is great therapy. I have severe neck problems and was thinking of this alternative. I bet it can help for someones depression. It is too bad that insurance does not cover it.
